Fancy Pillows

Our fancy pillows vary greatly in both designs and style. These pillows tend to be more unique than the panel pillows. Handmade and lovingly constructed, these pillows range from simple pieced blocks to intricate cross-stitched patterns to embroidered blocks to paper-pieced designs, and everything in between! The cross-stitch and embroidery patterns are all hand-stitched. The pillows listed in this section can be purchased with or without a pillow form. Use the pull down menus to select with or without a pillow form before clicking the BUY button. NOTE: Most of the pillow shams are shown unstuffed, for ease of picture-taking.

Cross-stitch Patchwork Pillows are pieced traditional quilt blocks but with a cross-stitched center. The center is a piece of Aida cloth, the cotton fabric used for cross-stitching, and the centers are all hand-stitched.
Note: Typically, our cross-stitch patchwork pillows are one-of-a-kind. We make them from leftover scraps and hence rarely make the same pillow twice.

Cross-stitch Hopscotch Pillows are hand-stitched onto an Aida cross-stitch fabric called Hopscotch. This fabric is printed in a country-style plaid patchwork so that only the center square is plain and unprinted, ready for a pattern to be stitched. However, some patterns also have stitched designs that overflow into the plaid patchwork areas, or are intentionally placed in the plaid areas.

Celtic Applique pillows are made with the quilting technique, Celtic applique. Bias tape is hand-stitched in the Celtic designs onto cotton fabric prints. The pillow covers are still fully washable. These great pillows feature various Celtic knots in both traditional and more modern designs.
