IN MEMORIUM

Oliver

Toby, brother to Oliver and Rascal, passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2009. For 17 years, he'd shared his life with us. While still just a small kitten, he'd chosen Shelly as HIS human and merely tolerated the presence of all other humans. He was Alpha cat, lord of his littermates, and frequently chose to ignore the fact that alpha cat did NOT mean that he also ruled the household. But he was still an affectionate kitty, on his terms, and was a loving companion to Shelly, whose attention he craved, especially during TV time with laps and quilts. Tub water was by far the best to drink and while he never did catch that pesky spot, he loved chasing it. In later years, he knew what "bedtime" meant and Shelly's pillow was his domain. His opinion of other humans also mellowed and he finally accepted the rest of the family as worthy of giving him attention. He's missed terribly by his family. Toby leaves behind his one remaining littermate, Rascal, his dog companion Paco, and his two human companions, Shelly and husband Greg.

Oliver, brother to Toby and Rascal, died on Tuesday, September 23, 2008. For 16 years, he'd shared his life with us, an affectionate and loving kitty. Both the wildest and the most lovable of the three littermates, Oliver was an avid lap cat. He had a tiger's cleverness and double paws on his front feet, which he used to grab and hold onto things (including chair backs and your hand).

Oliver

He had a knack for making any position look like the most comfortable feather bed you could imagine, even when he was sitting in a box full of odd-sized, sharp-edged objects. He loved getting into boxes, even figuring out how to open copy paper boxes by pushing the lid up. He loved to play and race around the house, leaping over objects and across furniture. At night, he loved to curl up on our pillow or under the covers with us, serenading us to sleep with his purring. He's missed terribly by his family. Oliver leaves behind his two littermates, Rascal and Toby, and his two human companions Shelly and husband Greg.

Cumbie passed away on Sunday, October 29, 2006. With Sherry's help, she bravely struggled against a serious illness (renal kidney disease) for five months before her body gave up the battle. But now she's free of pain (and daily medicine!) and we hope she's happily chasing mice and drinking cream in kitty heaven. She leaves behind her two human companions Sherry and husband Rob, plus her relunctant cat companion, Hollis, to whom she passes rulership of the household.
